[Problem Description]
Trigger conditions:
SDH boards are installed in a slave subrack.
Symptom:
When the NE software is being upgraded to OptiX OSN 8800 V100R007C02SPC300, the upgrade will fail and the NE will be unreachable by the NMS.
If the NMS version is U2000 V100R006C00SPC200 or later, the NMS cannot manage the SDH boards in a slave subrack.
When SDH boards are installed in a slave subrack and protection is configured, the protection switching times out. As a result, services will be affected.
Identification method:
Check whether the following types of boards are installed in a slave subrack of OptiX OSN 8800.
SSN4SLQ64, SSN3SLH41, SSN4SLO16, SSN4SLD64, SSN4SL64, SSN4SLQ16, SSN4SFD64, SSN4SF64, SSN1SF64, SSN1EHSH, SSN3EAS2, SSN4BPA
[Root Cause]
SDH boards cannot be installed in a slave subrack of OptiX OSN 8800 V100R002C02 or a later version. The product document specifically describes the specification restriction. However, the specification restriction is not applied on the equipment or NMS.
An OCS subrack cannot function as a master or slave subrack but an independent NE. The SDH boards must be installed in the same OCS subrack. For details, see section 38.5 “Planning the Master and Slave Subracks” of OptiX OSN 8800 V100R002C02 Feature Description 06.
SDH boards cannot be created on the NMS of U2000 V100R006C00SPC200 or a later version.
SDH boards are not allowed in a slave subrack of NE software version OptiX OSN 8800V100R007C02SPC300 or later.

If the NE software is being upgraded to OptiX OSN 8800 V100R007C02SPC300, the NE will be unreachable by the NMS.

Step 1. Contact with Huawei HQ to ascertain the rectification scheme and plan.
Step 2. Collect the configuration data and backup data of NEs on the live network and send them back to Huawei HQ.
Step 3. Configure databases with the help of Huawei HQ.
Step 4. Rectify the live network.
