Wrong files selection —-Failed to upgrade a N3SL16 board

“Dear thunder-link.com, I want to update our N3SL16 board of OSN3500, but always failed due to wrong files selection. How can i solve the problem?”——Anna Kahama

The SL16 board is a 1xSTM-16 optical interface board with Part Number 03030LNH and Compatibility of Metro3000.

When we insert a new SL16 boards in a OSN3500 that have a V200R012C01SPC100 version. We need to upgrade the new board and for that operation we have the V200R012C01SPC100_Software.zip packet. For the upgrade we use the board_software_upgrade option in the U2000. After login the NE in the  board_software_upgrade and query the boards it show the SL16A as a SSN3SL16. When we try to upload the packet of the N3SL16-1 board the packet does not load to the board.

In a XXXXXXXXXXXX_Software.zip upgrade packet you have to select the correct upgrade packet according with the board type. If you select the wrong board type the packets are not loaded to the board. The board_software_upgrade does not show the exactly board type then it is necessary to check the board_manufacter_report.

We check the board manufacture report of the N3SL16A and it show that the board inserted is a SSN3SL16A08 board. We were selecting the wrong board packet

The board inserted is a SSN3SL16A08 board. We search in the matching table file and found that the correct board packet to be upload to this board is the SSN3SL16A-B2 board packet.

If you do not have the .PKG file and need to upgrade by board first check the board_manufacture_report in order to find the correct board hardware version then find the correct board packet in the matching_table file.
