Comparison Between U2000 LCT and U2000 Web LCT

The U2000 LCT and the U2000 Web LCT are EMSs. They both deliver configuration and maintenance functions for Huawei optical network products. This article describes the main differences between them.

The U2000 LCT functions and components as follow:

iManager U2000 local craft terminal (U2000 LCT) is an NE layer management system for the optical transport network. The U2000 LCT uniformly manages OptiX series optical transmission equipment from Huawei, such as MSTP, WDM, LH WDM (NA), PTN and submarine equipment.

iManager U2000 Web LCT is an NE layer management system for the transport network. The Web LCT uniformly manages OptiX series optical transmission equipment from Huawei, such as the OSN 9560, NG WDM, NG WDM (NA), RTN and submarine equipment.

Network Position

The OptiX iManager U2000 LCT (local craft terminal) provides solutions for the transport network NE management. The U2000 Web LCT is an NE-layer management system for transport networks. Based on the browser/server architecture, the U2000 Web LCT allows you to perform all the operations related to NE-level configuration and maintenance.

In TMN hierarchical structure, the U2000 LCT is located at EML, the U2000 Web LCT is located at the NE layer. That is, the U2000 Web LCT is an element management system (EMS) and provides all management functions at the NE layer, please check the structure below:

The U2000 LCT is Java-based.

The U2000 Web LCT uses the browser/server architecture. That is, it is Web-based and users can access it from a browser for configuring and maintaining NEs.

Data Management

The U2000 Web LCT does not have its own database. All operations take effect directly on NEs. Therefore, the U2000 Web LCT does not allow users to preconfigure NEs, upload or download NE data, and acknowledge and synchronize alarms.

The U2000 LCT provides the users with single-layer management network solutions to the transmission networks of up to 32 NEs to realize integrated management of multi-service transmission network. Usually it uses the Ethernet cable or serial port cable to connect the GNE, so as to configure and maintain the NEs.

The U2000 Web LCT manages a maximum of 32 NEs. The U2000 Web LCT accesses local NEs through local area networks (LANs) or serial ports and accesses remote NEs through data communications channels (DCCs). The U2000 Web LCT can be integrated into the U2000.
