MPLA board is the main control board of MA5800 X7/15/17. It is the core of the system control and service switching and aggregation. The MPLA board can also function as the management and control core of the integrated network management system (NMS). It communicates with service boards about the key management and control information through the master/slave serial port and inband GE/10GE channel. In this manner, the MPLA board configures, manages, and controls the device, and also implements the simple route protocol functions.
There are three hardware versions of MPLA, H901MPLA, H902MPLA and H903MPLA, Below is a detailed comparison lists among the three versions, “Yes” indicates “supported” and “No” indicates “not supported”.

When configuring the boards of the MA5800 series OLT MA5800-X7/X15/X17, if both the active and standby control boards are configured, you need to periodically check whether the data of the active control board is synchronized to the standby control board to ensure reliable running of the system.
If necessary (for example, the active control board is faulty), you need to manually perform active/standby switchover to improve reliability of the system. An active/standby switchover involves only control plane switchover. The forwarding plane works in load sharing mode and therefore it continuously forwards services.
When the software version of the active control board is inconsistent with the software version of the standby control board, the system capacity for backing up the service is affected. When the active control board is faulty, the active/standby switchover may fail, or the service cannot fully recover after the active/standby switchover.
Software version of MPLA are in below:
Part Number | External Model | Description | Start Version |
03022XTN | H901MPLA | Main Processing Board | V100R015C00 |

03025KFE | H903MPLA | Main Processing Board | V100R019C10 |
In addition, there are two kind daughter boards CKUA and CKUB of main control boards, the detail comparisons in below chart:
Daughter Board | Corresponding Control Board | Function |
