Comparison of Huawei MA5600T Upstream Interface Board

Huawei MA5600T series OLT supports four mainstream GE and 10GE upstream interface board: GICF, GICG, X2CS

and X2CK. In this article, we are about to compare these upstream boards.

 

1. GE upstream boards: GICF and GICG

• GICF is a 2-port GE optical board, it supports GE 0.5km/10km/40km/80km transceiver.
• CICG is a 2-port electrical board, supports GE 1000Base-T RJ45

 

Note: CICG actually is not commonly used, and very rare in the market, if you need 1000BASE-T uplink, you can

choose GICF configured with 1000BASE-T transceivers.

 

2. 10GE upstream boards: X2CK and X2CS.

• X2CS has two versions H801and H802. They have different appearances and H802X2CS supports SFP/SFP+ modules, but H801X2CS only supports SFP+ modules.
• X2CK also has H801 and H803 versions. The difference is H801X2CK supports 10GE/GE synchronous Ethernet, 1588v2 clock, and 1588ACR function only in V800R017C10 and later versions.

 

X2CS and X2CK boards are very similar. They are both 2-port 10GE/GE uplink interface card that provides two

10GE/GE upstream or cascading optical ports.The difference between the two boards is that X2CK supports 1588v2

clock while X2CS does not.Therefore, X2CS and X2CK boards can be used as alternatives.

Compared with Huawei MA5600T OLT, MA5800 OLT has 14 times switching capacity, 5 times bandwidth, 8 times

MAC address. So we prefer to suggest you choose MA5800 OLT as a better solution.

Although MA5600T main control board integrates uplink interfaces, people generally

buy uplink boards separately. As the next-generation OLT MA5800, its main control board integrates 10G uplink

interfaces, which are more favored by most people. It can also be equipped with an 8-port 10GE NXED uplink board

according to your needs.
