Overview of Huawei FTTx Leased Line Solution

ONU is used for SME/Enterprise branch/mobile base station access

GE/FE P2P access is used for enterprise

G.SHDSL and ADSL2+/VDSL2 bonding application is used for SME/mobile base station access

Scenario 1: Eth Leased Line Access

MA5600T system have two VPN implementation modes:

One is QinQ VLAN, in this mode, OLT tag outer VLAN to identify the enterprise belonging, which is the same value within same enterprise;

Another is ETH PW, in this mode, OLT initialize MPLS LSP to set up ETH PWE3 according to the enterprise belonging and service type;

Comment:

ONU can be MA5612/5628, must not be ONT.

Scenario 2: Enterprise PBX Access

For traditional PBX accessOne application is E1 interface which traffic can be delivered to OLT through Native TDM Another is PRA/BRA interface which protocol will be ended up and transferred to H.248 or SIP calling by ONU.

For IP PBX access Directly connect to ONU by FE interface, then transparently transmit to OLT in layer 2.

For DDN data network access

A protocol converter can be used for translation between V.24/V.35 and E1. (Outsourcing, not from Huawei)

Comment:

For ONU, Only MA5612 support PRA interface, and one E1 card can support 2 PRA interfaces.

Scenario 3: P2P Access for Business

Ardware Configuration:

The P2P line board of OLT is OPGD, which can support up to 48 GE/FE optical access;

The Router/LSW in enterprise side can be either Huawei or other standard equipment;

Forwarding mechanism:

If two branches of same enterprise are under same OLT, the OLT can enable forwarding function between related ports based on same VLAN value;

Else under different OLT, OLT can set up leased line to realize forwarding each other by QinQ VLAN or MPLS PW;

OAM feature

The P2P link can be managed by ETH OAM protocol.

Scenario 4: Copper Access for Business

Hardware configuration:

EDTB board in OLT will be adopted, which can support 16 E1 ports and 16 G.SHDSL ports concurrently in one board;

100% inherit the legacy service, don’t need change customer premise equipment;

Application Scenarios:

EDTB is mainly applied for extending E1 coverage by transferring to G.SHDSL;

Both TDM G.SHDSL and E1 interface can support PBX access;

E1 for access and TDM PWE3 for uplink can also be applied;

Scenario 5: Native TDM + TDM PWE3

Scenario description:

MA5612/MA5628 access enterprise with TDM E1 interface, and access to MA5600T with Native TDM mode;

MA5600T access to upper layer PSN network after encapsulating Native TDM to PWE3;

MA5600T or CX600 terminates the PWE3 back to Native TDM to other part of the enterprise.

Clock solution description:

OLT have two ways to get the clock source in this scenario:  Synch Eth  and BITS;

OLT deliver the clock signal to ONU through GPON line clock,  then ONU deliver clock to base station through synch eth or specified clock interface;

Advantage:

PW encapsulation is centralized in OLT, which simplify the ONU function and reduce the total CAPEX;

High accuracy clock from BITS and synch eth can fully meet the base station requirement ;

Enterprise Access Solution Highlight

— HQ and Branch under the same OLT

Current Network Pain Point :

Based on the security consideration, Normally, the user under one OLT is isolated each other even with same VLAN flag.

MA5600T Highlight Solution :

Forwarding between different ONU under same PON port

Forwarding between different PON port within same PON board

Forwarding between different PON port belonging to different PON board

All above are under same OLT

Comment:

ONU can be MA5612/5628, must not be ONT.
