All productsThe SmartAX MA5620 Remote Optical Access Unit applies in FTTB and FTTC, which take up the main position in GPON network. Hence, for this kind of equipment, troubleshooting is especially critical.
This type of equipment carries with port mirroring function when leaving the factory, by dealing with the data communication equipment, catching ideas of deal with PON equipment malfunction. Let the underlying of each port data be displayed to engineers, for analyzing the whole network packet flow and to facilitate fault processing. In this article, we will show how to configure the port mirror capture.
Precondition:
1.Be able to entry MA5620 equipment configuration interface layout data.
2.Software version is V8R312, as shown below.
3.Install similarly Wireshark data package to capture software.
Operating steps:
1.Connect beaching accommodation.

This is default user name and password.
Three ways to login:
a. Through MA5683T equipment configuration interface, using Telnet login MA5620 (configured remote management VLAN and device address).
b. Use the Console cable to connect equipment, the details please check this support “MA5600 OLT equipment upgrade instructions” about the Console cable connection to the equipment.
c. Through the Internet directly, landing MA5620 equipment reserved address.
When the equipment leaving factory, 0/1 in FE/1 mouth have a meth port address, the address is:
# [meth] <meth0> interface meth0 ip address 10.11.104.2 255.255.255.0 #
Using the PC to configure a IP address, 10.11.104. X. Connecting to MA5620 directly, and communicate with MA5620 equipment, then use Telnet to login the device.
2.Mirroring configuration.
System configuration only supports mirroring the destination port.
Multiple ports can be mirrored to the same destination port.
GPON upward port can be mirrored to FE port with registered permanent residence. Can’t use FE portbe mirrored to GPON upward.
Configuration data:
a. Use mirror port command with Ethernet port mirroring port.b. Use the display mirror command queries Ethernet port mirror configuration.
eg. All the transceiver two-way message 0/1/1 ports mapping to 0/1/3 ports.

eg. The 0/0/1 GPON port transceiver two-way message are mapped to 0/1/8 ports.

Correct operation.
Delete the Ethernet port mirroring.
undo mirror port.
3.Capture data packet.
When configured mirror port parameters, the destination port of the image can be connected to the PC side of the packet capture via a cable, the PC runs similar to the Wireshark’s software of capturing packet, will receive numerous underlying data packets.
Monitoring network traffic is usually required for deployment of products such as traffic analysis and IDS, but monitoring all traffic in today’s widely used switched networks is quite difficult. Therefore, it is necessary to configure the switch to forward data from one or more ports (VLANs) to a certain port to monitor the network.
