How to Upgrade Huawei WLAN AC via Web Platform?

Some users chase up-to-date software for their Huawei Huawei WLAN Access Controller (AC), to ensure optimal performance and security. CLI or Web Platform both are upgrade channels, but Web-based upgrade process is more convenient and user-friendly. This article will guide you procedure process of upgrading Huawei WLAN AC via Web page step by step, to ensure a smooth and successful upgrade experience.

Below is an example of upgrading AC6508 from V200R019C10 to V200R020C00.

Procedure

1, Log in to the web platform.

Open a browser, enter http://IP address or https://IP address in the address box, for example, http://169.254.1.1 or https://169.254.1.1, and press Enter (this section uses 169.254.1.1 as an example. Enter the actual interface IP address in actual operations). Enter the default user name admin and password admin@huawei.com.

2, Check the current software version.

Choose Monitoring > AC > AC. The AC page is displayed.

3, Back up key data and check available space.

a. Choose MaintenanceAC Maintenance > System > File Management. The File Management page is displayed

b. Clickthe download buttonof the file that you want to back up and download the file to the PC. Files that need to be backed up include the configuration file, system software package, license file, and patch file.

c. Check whether there is sufficient space in the storage medium on the AC to store the new system software package. If not, select unneeded files and clickCompletely Delete. Ensure that there is sufficient space to store the new system software package. For the size of the new system software package.

4. Upload the new system software, patch and configuration file to the AC from the local PC.

a. On theFile Management page, click Upload. The Upload page is displayed.

b. Click Browse and select the local system files to upload.

c. Click OK. After the upload is completed, the system displays a message indicating that the file has been successfully uploaded.

5. Load the system files and restart the AC

a. Choose Maintenance > Device Upgrade > AC Upgrade. The AC Upgrade tab page is displayed. If the target system software version does not have a matching patch file, skip the patch file.

b. Specify the system software and configuration file for next startup. ClickApply and restart the device.

Note: During the AC restart, the web platform is disconnected from the AC.

6. After the restart is complete, log in to the web platform and check the current software version.

Access the web page and check the current software version.
