Q: What is the difference between Huawei 2700 switch and 2300 switch?
A: Huawei S2700 target the enterprise market, S2300 target at telecom market, but most function are the same, the manufacturer did this mostly for marketing reasons as the telecom market most are big customers with better discount.
Q: Can I get technical support from Thunder-link.com if we purchase LS-S2750-20TP-PWR-EI from you?
A: Yes, Thunder-link.com has experienced technical team on Huawei switches, however, you may need to purchase technical support service from us as by default we only provide one year hardware warranty. And you also can purchase technical support from Thunder-link.com.
Q: What is the difference between Huawei 2700 switch and 2300 switch?
A: Huawei S2700 target the enterprise market, S2300 target at telecom market, but most function are the same, the manufacturer did this mostly for marketing reasons as the telecom market most are big customers with better discount.
Q: Can I get technical support from Thunder-link.com if we purchase LS-S2700-18TP-SI-AC from you?
A: Yes, Thunder-link.com has experienced technical team on Huawei switches, however, you may need to purchase technical support service from us as by default we only provide one year hardware warranty. And you also can purchase technical support from Thunder-link.com.
Q: What are the power supply types supported by the S2700SI/EI?
A: The S2700SI, S2710SI,and S2750EI support only AC power supply. The S2700EI supports both AC power supply and DC power supply.
Q: Why the S2700 switch cannot transparently transmit the packets whose VLANID is greater than 127 after VLAN translation is enabled?
A: After the VLAN translation function is enabled for the S2700 switch, the 128 module problem exists because the chip difference supports only 128 VLAN TO VLAN entries.
The packets received through the port are processed as the VLAN smaller than 128. The calculation method is (vlanid)%128.
Therefore, for a VLAN greater than 128, port vlan-mapping vlan id map-vlan id, that is, the mapping from the VLAN to the same VLAN, must be configured for the transparent transmission to be implemented.
Q: How many member switches does the HGMP feature of the S2700 switch support in a cluster?
A: The HGMP feature of the S2700 supports a maximum of 32 member switches in a cluster.
Switches running V100R006C05, V200R002, or a later version do not support HGMP.
Q: Outbound flow mirroring fails to be configured on the S2700. does the system displays an error message and is the configuration file available?
A: When outbound flow mirroring fails to be configured, there may be no error message or the configuration file is unavailable. Before configuring outbound flow mirroring, configure two reserved interfaces. The reserved interface cannot belong to any VLAN. Therefore, you must delete an interface from VLANs before configuring it as the reserved interface.
Q: After a Non-configured S2700 connects to the internet, the CPU usage is high, why?
A: By default, the S2700 sends IPv6 ND packets to the CPU. Because WIN7 clients are used, so many ND packets may exist, which cause high CPU usage. This problem exists in V100R005. You can load the latest patch or upgrade the switch to V100R006.
Q: DHCP users go online through the S2700, but cannot access the internet. Why?
A: When a large number of DHCP users go online through the S2700, the S2700 generates a large number of dynamic DHCP snooping binding entries. On the S2700 V1R6C00SPC800, the software provides incorrect priority settings for DHCP snooping binding entries and IP source guard and DAI ACL rules, and the ACL rules have a higher priority than DHCP snooping binding entries. As a result, the software delivers the ACL rules but not DHCP snooping binding entries. User packets cannot be forwarded because no binding entry is available.
Solution: Install S2700SPH006, enable DHCP users to go online again, and reconfigure IP source guard and DAI on the physical interface from which DHCP users go online.
Q: Can the S2700 switch function as a gateway?
A: The S2700 switch cannot be used as a gateway. The S2700 is a Layer 2 switch. If it is used as a gateway, it sends all packets that need to be forwarded at Layer 3 to the CPU to forward the packets through software. This causes a high CPU usage. Because CAR parameters are configured to protect the CPU, a large number of packets are dropped, affecting forwarding of service packets.
Q: Can loopback detection on the S2700 detect loops between more than two ports?
A: Loopback detection on the S2700 cannot detect loops between more than two ports. Loopback detection is a single-node technique, and detects loops on the network connected to an interface by checking whether packets sent out from the interface are sent back to the interface.
