Huawei SmartAX MA5800 System Test Procedure

There are many access equipment dealers in the market, but most of them source equipment from someplace and then sell to overseas customers directly without any test due to no test lab and technical capacity, which causes GPON boards that customers received may cannot work normally (board failed, GPHF/GPSF and MPLA software version mismatched, GPON modules Tx power abnormal etc.). To avoid these problems, we will do a comprehensive test before storage and delivery.

Test Procedure

1. Choose Huawei MA5800 X15 with MPLA main board and GPHF C++ for testing

2. Connect computer and CON port on MPLA by a console cable

3. Insert GPHF C++, power on MA5800 X15 system

4. Observe board indicator lights, lights change from red to green and glint once every second

5. Login MA5800 via Secure CRT, input command “display board 0” to check boards status

According to Huawei datasheet, the normal TX power range of GPON module is:

B+ 1.5~5dBm

C+ 3~7dBm

C++ 6~10dBm

In case 1, 0/4/0 GPON module TX power is 7.16dBm, which shows module works normally.

0/4/5 C++ and 0/4/6 C++ in case 2 and 3, data of Temperature, TX Bias current, Supply Voltage and TX power(dBm) is messy code and blank, which indicates modules are fail.

 

For GPON board, we cannot judge it just based on its indicator glint and display status, we must check every GPON module TX power via commend. Therefore, besides appearance inspection, inserting board into OLT to check GPON module is necessary before purchase.

 

For main control board, there are different versions, such as R16, 17, R18. Dealers who have no test capacity cannot upgrade or downgrade version according to customer’s requirements. In addition, if two main control boards in same chassis have different versions, and if the higher version board starts firstly, the lower version board will be automatically synchronized by the higher version board. If the lower version board starts firstly, the higher version board may not start normally.

 

Huawei MA5800 system is very important part in the internet access layer, any failure or malfunction of hardware, will cause even more loss. By view of this, tests of system compatibility and GPON board are indispensable. To guarantee customers’ benefits, we will do a comprehensive test for MA5800 as above procedures, which realizes plug-and-play in a real sense.
