Q: What is the difference between S3700-28TP-EI-DC and S3700-28TP-SI-DC?
A: S3700-28TP-SI-DC only supports Static routing, RIPv1, RIPv2, and ECMP. While S3700-28TP-EI-DC not only supports Static routing, RIPv1, RIPv2, and ECMP, also supports OSPF, IS-IS, and BGP.
Q: What is the difference between Huawei 3700 switch and 3300 switch?
A: Huawei S3700 target the enterprise market, S3300 target at telecom market, but most function are the same, the manufacturer did this mostly for marketing reasons as the telecom market most are big customers with better discount.
Q: Does the S3700 support port mirroring?
A: Yes, it supports. The details are as follows:
1. A maximum of four observing ports can be configured on an S3700. Packets from multiple ports can be mirrored to the same observing port. You can mirror incoming packets, outgoing packets, or both to an observing port.
2. The S3700 supports Remote Switched Port Analyzer (RSPAN). That is, the observing port and mirrored port can be located on different switches. This facilitates remote device management.
3. Flows can be mirrored from multiple ports to the same observing port. Flows to be mirrored are determined by the traffic classification rule.
Q: After a Traffic Policy is applied globally on S3700, the rate limit is invalid when a Traffic Policy is applied to interface?
A: If more than 128 ACL rules are configured, a traffic policy must be applied to the interface, VLAN, and globally in sequence. To update ACL rules, delete all traffic policies from the interface, VLAN, and system, and reconfigure traffic policies on the interface, in the VLAN, and globally in sequence.
Q: There are Multiple Ports in up state on the S3700. After VLAN mapping is configured on these ports, ping packets are lost and telnet packets are processed slowly. Why?
A: Scheduling of packet receiving tasks is improver. As a result, packet receiving tasks are switched frequently and there is low efficiency in processing packets. Ping packets are lost and Telnet packets are processed slowly.
Q: Why can the working rate of some combo interfaces on the S3700 be configured to 100 Mbit/s and other combo interfaces cannot?
A: You can know the working rate of combo interfaces on the S3700 according to the marks on the panel. The details are as follows:
If a combo interface is marked with 1000M, the working rate of the combo interface can only be 1000 Mbit/s.
If a combo interface is marked with 100/1000M, the working rate of the combo interface can be 100 Mbit/s or 1000 Mbit/s.
Q: Can the S3700 transparently transmit PAUSE frames?
A: PAUSE frames are sent and terminated at the MAC address layer of the forwarding chip. PAUSE Frames are used to control service traffic when the forwarding chip is congested. PAUSE frames cannot be forwarded.
Q: Why some S3752 switches cannot set up a Stack?
A: An S3752 does not support the stacking function if it uses a print circuit board (PCB) of version A.
Run the display version command on the S3752. If the following information is displayed, the S3752 uses a PCB of version A.
