S6720-HI series full-featured 10 GE routing switches are Huawei’s first IDN-ready fixed switches that provide 10 GE downlink ports and 40 GE/100 GE uplink ports.

S6720-HI series switches provide native AC capabilities and can manage 1K APs. They provide a free mobility function to ensure a consistent user experience and are VXLAN capable of implementing network virtualization. S6720-HI series switches also provide built-in security probes and support abnormal traffic detection, Encrypted Communications Analytics (ECA), and network-wide threat deception. The S6720-HI is ideal for enterprise campuses, carriers, higher education institutions, and governments.

A: S6720-50L-HI-48S can support 100G QSFP28 ports, and with 2 FANS, but have no extended slot; while S6720-54C-EI-48S has only 10G 40G ports, with 1 FAN, extended cards supported; For details, you can refer to above overview part.

A: Yes, because these two models have almost same specifications, and they share same AC or DC power modules.

 

Q: Does S6720-50L-HI-48S switch need 100GE QSFP28 license to be upgraded to use 100GE port?

A: No,

For S6720 series switch License is not required since its 40G/100G self-adaptive.
For 6730 series switch License is required since the default uplink port is 40GE, which needs to be upgraded to 100GE through the license.
For CE series switch License is not required since 40G or 100G/40G is for choice.
