TNG2AST2 Two-Bidirectional optical supervisory channel and timing transmission unit

The available functional version of the AST2 board is: TNG2

Apply to OSN 9800 M05, OSN 9800 M12 and OSN 9800 M24.

AST2 board is mainly used to process and regenerate optical supervisory signals. In addition, the AST2 board supports the IEEE 1588v2 function

As an OSC board, the AST2 board processes two channels of supervisory signals, transmits and extracts the overhead information about the system, processes and sends the overhead information to the system control board

Functions and features
Basic functions	Receives, processes, and transmits two optical supervisory signals
	Supports a maximum of 37.5 dB transmission. (Not including the loss of the FIU boards)
Technical features	The OSC has no limitation on the distance between two optical line amplifiers. The failure of an optical line amplifier does not affect the performance of the OSC
	The AST2 board is independent of the system control board. When the system control board is not properly installed, the AST2 board can still ensure the pass-through of ECC with the two optical interfaces and monitor other stations
Regeneration function	The AST2 board transmits signals from section to section. It also has the 3R function. In each regenerating station that has optical amplifiers, information can be correctly received and new supervisory signals are added
