A: The following are the three kinds of licenses that need to be activated.
1, NE40E NetEngine40E BNG Software Package
This license controls L2TP, PPPoE, IPoE, EDSG, and DAA functions on a device.
2, NetEngine40E Subscribers Quantity(1k Subscribers)
This license controls the number of BAS access users. Each license allows the access of 1000 users. This license controls the number of PPPoE users, instead of the number of IPoE users, for BAS access. This license needs to be loaded according to the number of subscribers.
3, NetEngine40E&80E PPPoE/IPoE Function License
Service card (no matter Flexible mother card, daughter card or integrated card) needs support PPPoE/IPoE Function.
Card model with “E” itself supports PPPoE/IPoE, no extra license; card without “E”, relative license is needed to activate PPPoE/IPoE.
In a word, NE40E BNG license is the base, and then make sure service cards support PPPoE/IPoE.
Q: If I use IPoE, do I still need a user license instead of PPPoE?
A: IPoE does not require a license for the number of users.
